The first lectures on chemical biology was given by Dr. Fabian Mohr (Junior professor, Univ. Wuppertal, Germany) were given at Ochanomizu University Graduate school.

The first lectures on chemical biology by Dr. Fabian Mohr (Junior professor, Univ. Wuppertal, Germany) were given at Ochanomizu University Graduate School on July 23-24. Prof. Fabian Mohr talked about “Metals in Medicine: the past, the present and the future”. Approximately 130 participants from Ochanomizu University, the Tokyo Medical and Dental University and outside attended. In the lectures, he explained the basics of bioactive metal complexes and the biological activity (cancer and malaria) of gold and platinum complexes. The second lectures will be held in October.
