Outline of Consortium

Life science research is a new interdisciplinary field and the outcome from the study is expected to launch a new industrial infrastructure.　Along with the expectation in the society, education system in universities is needed to be reform, to aim for fostering knowledge in life scientist with a wide range of perspective.

A life science division in four graduate schools in Tokyo, namely Graduate schools of Tokyo medical and dental University, of Kitasato University, of Gakushuin University and of Ochanomizu University, forms Tokyo Interdisciplinary Life Science Consortium. The consortium aims for innovating graduate school education in life science, promoting  internationalization and developing a collaboration between Industrial field and the universities in Tokyo. These four graduate schools aim for  establishing a center of life science in Tokyo with research institutions, local governments and economic organizations.
